Koinoki Pop-Up Shrine at Ishibashi Bunka Center

The shrine, Koinoki, in Chikugo City, Fukoka, is popular with single ladies who are looking for a partner.

I haven't been to the actual shrine, but every year, they have mini pop-up shrines in Fukuoka City and in Kurume City.

Until last year, Kurume's version was in the entrance of Iwataya department store outside of Nishitetsu Station, but as it closed that building last spring, the pink mini-shrine had to move.

The new location is at Ishibashi Culture Center, with a backdrop of ume and momo blossoms.

Small kids had written funny love messages to classmates and... Kamen Rider. I heard the adults loudly laughing about that one.

I recommend visiting the actual shrine or the pop-up versions during February and March, if you're in the area.
