大分县处于西日本的九州岛， 县人口约一百二四万人。大分县百分之七十的土地被山，森林和河流覆盖， 所以是个温泉的集聚区。大分县也是日本拥有最多温泉的地方。大分县别府市的温泉区最出名，其中的地狱温泉虽不是能泡的温泉，但是吸引了很多爱好温泉的游客前来参观。
