Vivre dans Akita
A large portion of rice distributed in Japan is grown in Akita Prefecture, and due to it's large rice output, sake and other rice related products are also produced in Akita prefecture. A great number of famous onsens are found in Akita Prefecture, and many Japanese people travel there every year to visit them. Unfortunately, the population of Akita Prefecture is in decline. This prefecture has the lowest population of children in Japan, at only 11.2%. The population of the entire prefecture is barely at 1 million, with 323,000 of those people living in Akita Prefecture's capital, Akita City.
