Patisserie with a focus on local ingredients
Something I've really grown to love about life in Japan is the focus many places have on using locally grown produce, and Grand Sourire in Mitsuke is a patisserie that does just that. Le Lectier pears from Sanjo, and chestnuts, sweet potatoes and pumpkins grown right there in Mitsuke are just some of the goodies that have featured in their baked treats. Lots of options to choose from on any given day, but obviously the focus on seasonality means that it will depend on the time of year you visit as to what is available. Really cool concept, though!
