Sống ở Shimane
Shimane Prefecture, located on the western edge of Honshu, is small and narrow, and it's coastline faces the Sea of Japan. Shimane's population is just over 712,000, the second least populated prefecture in all of Japan. A majority of Shimane Prefecture's land is mountainous, making it difficult to inhabit. Thus, many of Shimane Prefecture's residents live along the coast. Shimane Prefecture is scenic and quiet; Matsue City, the capital has just over 200,000 making it the least populated capital city in any prefecture. Shimane Prefecture has a high percentage of elderly, one of the highest in Japan, and more people aged over 100 years than any other prefecture.
