The description
A fifty five gram pack of jagged shaped, thick cut sour cream and onion flavor potato chips. The product is a collaboration between Calbee and Beisia supermarkets.
The good
At 89 yen per 55 gram bag, the price is reasonable enough. You'd be hard pushed to find a packet of potato chips of the same size more than a few yen cheaper. Topvalu's version of the sour cream and onion potato chips that I reviewed the other day are 1 yen cheaper. The packaging is nice, but I actually find them quite difficult to open. As the product claims on the packaging - the potato chips are indeed thick cut. There isn't an after taste which sometimes you get with onion flavored crisps.
The not so good
After such a good experience with TopValu's "Thick cut potato chips, sour cream and onion flavor" the other day, I decided to get these to try. However, I prefer Top Valu's. But as I said in the review for Top Valu's, the Top Value ones are not readily available in supermarkets other than Aeon, as they are the brand of Aeon and as such are a competitor to the likes of Beisia, where I bought these Calbee brand thick cut sour cream and onion flavor potato chips. Moreover, this product is a Calbee and Beisia collaboration, so it is probably not widely available outside of Beisai supermarkets.
