Anti-Homesick Stocking Up

The other day, I took a long walk to the other side of my town to raid a Yamaya, the import store and liquor store, to grab a bunch of deliciousness to help me stay relaxed through the increasingly cold temperatures of Miyagi in winter.

Among my choices for purchase were tortilla chips, cream soda, a couple of flavors of hard cider, a couple of beers, and a cheap red wine I plan to try and then likely turned into mulled wine later this week.

What do you buy to keep yourself safe from home sickness during the long Japanese winter?
