What is Zaru Ramen?
This was something I had back in summer and I had a pack frozen and stocked up until now.
Zaru ramen is a rare term, but you have probably heard of zaru soba, aka chilled soba dipped into a cold tsuyu.
That is basically what this is, but in ramen form and a more exciting sauce to dip into. In this case, it is a delicious tantan soup with a decent level of spiciness.
What makes this different from tsukemen, since they both dip, is that the soup for zaru ramen is cold rather than hot.
Since it is very much a summer food, you probably cannot find them on the market now. Get on it next summer!

I improvised my own using a normal ramen packet and a lot of added goodies (scallions, ginger ect). It was quite good, though I definitely think it'll taste better from scratch! It's hard to come by ingredients here in America.

@Yen4405 Yes, adding goodies are great! The best thing to add is minced garlic ;)
