EchigO Stout

After becoming a massive fan of the EchigO rice lager, I now have managed to get my hands on the EchigO Stout.

It is a very smokey beer with a mild underlying malty sweetness. There is merely a hint of bitterness that comes in midway, but gets very much overpowered by the smokey aromas. It kind of tastes like burned caramel (in a good way!) without being too sweet.

For a stout I find it too watery and the flavor profile is too short for what I would expect. You merely get a short smokey aftertaste and that is it. But if you told me that this beer was a dark lager, I would be quite happy with it.
