The description
A packaged fruit tea drink that is sweet and tangy while providing a dose of caffeine via a black tea base. It comes with real fruit bits in the drink and a wide straw for drinking.
The good
Lipton is a brand known for its teas and this drink is arguably one of its better ones. It contains real bits of fruit in the package and when served cold, it is a refreshing, tasty drink that satisfies a sweet tooth while keeping the flavour mellow and palatable. Since it has chunks if fruit in it, it only makes sense that the straw it comes with would be wide enough to let those bits through. When I was drinking it, I never had any clogs in the straw. I’m not sure if that attests to the size of the straw, or to the size of the fruits inside.
The not so good
Anyone who doesn’t like bubble tea may be off-put by the chunks of fruit. I was taken aback by the solid pieces, having expected a purely liquid product. The size of the straw should have given that away, especially since I verbally questioned the reasoning behind the straw width. Still, a semi-clear package would have given the consumer some warning before drinking. The fruits also add some calories to the otherwise negligent count. I think without the fruits, only the sugar content would be the calorie source, but with the fruit, the drink comes in at about 110 calories. Not too bad, but still an impact to a diet.
