Autumn? Winter? Autwinter?
It's chilly here in northern Chiba Prefecture. But we're just at the peak of autumn colours. This afternoon, I cycled over to Shimizu Park, a natural beauty in Noda City, renowned for its fall foliage and spring blossoms.
By now you know that the autumn leaves are much later this year than historic records. You can still see the fiery beauty this week in the Kanto region, according to the Japan Meteorological Corporation's forecast.
For those of you in the greater Tokyo area, bundle up as it's getting cold fast and go see while you can in the next few sunny but freezing days!

It's snowing in Minamiuonuma today so I concur, go and enjoy the leaves and autumnal-feeling weather while you can!

@genkidesu Shimizu Park posted photos on Facebook and Instagram yesterday of the blazing colours. We're not quite done yet, even though the temperature will dip to zero tonight in the northern Chiba area.

In the Kansai region, the fall leaves have been dragging on for a couple weeks now. I thought they were just going to dry up this year because of the warm fall, but they have been stunning.

I've noticed the same as @helloalissa , that the leaves are hanging on for longer than normal. I also thought it would be a bad year for them, because don't they usually say a long hot summer means a poor autumn leaf season. I'm on way to see a giant, ancient gingko lit up tonight!
