Most of my savoury snack reviews cover senbei and potato chips. I'm a big fan of crunchy, salty treats. In moderation, of course. I don't usually go for corn-based crispy things, but Famimaru branded Aerial won me over. The snack comes in a 63 gram bag. This variety is Zeitaku shio bata aji, luxurious salt butter flavour. The puffy corn snacks were mostly whole. They're light, layered, fluffy bites. The salty and buttery flavour is loaded with umami. I'd get these ones again. They're sold exclusively at FamilyMart convenience stores.

The good features of Zeitaku shio bata aji outweigh the bad! This is a lovely melt-in-your-mouth snack. It's reasonably priced at under 150 yen. I suggest sharing this snack bag with a friend as it's quite calorific. The package indicates that the 63 gram bag is 356 calories. The texture, created with four layers of puffed corn (as indicated on the package), is deceiving. It feels light. Most of the contents were intact. The few broken pieces created a lot of crumbs. But they're just as delicious as they whole pieces.
