Like a lot of Suntory's The Premium Malt's brand of "premol" or premium malt beer, this is a little mysterious. This limited-edition beer, Kaori no Gohoubi, or Fragrant Reward, is a 5.5% alcohol beer. It's brewed with a combination of domestic hops and imported Hallertau Bran Hops from Europe. The Hallertau hops are known for their wine-like flavor. This beer pours with a light color and frothy head. The aroma is a little floral, a little herbal. It's some bitterness. I'd say this is a distinctively flavored beer.

Kaori no Gohoubi, or Fragrant Reward, has a lot of character and is to my palate, one of the more flavorful beers in The Premium Malt's line. It's not really that much more expensive than a standard mass-produced beer, so I recommend it for someone curious about "premol". In the "good" part of the review, I suggested it is mysterious. The label doesn't indicate whether this is a lager, an ale, or something else. I would say this is a good approximation of a German ale. I think this would pair well with sausage and cheese.
