Kindergarten Bazaar

Kindergarten Bazaar photo

Earlier in the year, my son's kindergarten had a bazaar to raise money for their Happyokai performance. When they were requesting items for the bazaar I really didn't know what it was or why they held it but it was a school event and I was glad to go check it out. All of the items were not so voluntarily donated by the families of the school plus a lovely display of items made by the students. Each item had the kids name so basically you were very early pressured to buy it because you didn't want them left out. I also picked up a few things from the donated items. The place I spent the most money however was in the candy store.

Each kid is given a free bag that they are told to come pick up from the classroom with the candy shop in it. Then there is a big table with lots of other treats the kids can buy.Like any kid in a candy store, I let my kid go wild. He spent a whole 500yen coin.Kindergarten Bazaar photo

He had a great time, but this poor momma became poorer. It was still fun.

I did learn later than the proceeds paid for the costumes and decorations for the Happyokai. I had wondered about how that was paid for.
