Daiso Yuzu Lemon Nabe

Finding nabe sauce packs at Daiso was surprising but Yuze Lemon flavor was a pleasant one. If you aren't familiar with Japanese nabe, these packs are sold at any supermarket during the colder months. It is the easiest dinner. Just toss some vegetables and some sort of protein in a pot, pour in the soup base and you are done. Most flavors are miso, seafood, or soymilk based. This is my first time seeing a lemon-flavored one. Seeing as it is Daiso, for two to three people, a hundred yen is cheap.

So how was the taste?

It was amazing!

I put pre-cooked chicken and random vegetables I had in the fridge, but the soup base made this meal delectable. It had a hint of yuzu and lemon but it wasn't sour. The salty broth balanced the acidity of the citrus in it.

I plan to try the other flavors as well.
