How many doctor's visits do you make each year?

Have you ever thought about the number of doctor's visits you make in a year? I'm always interested in data and statistics comparing Japan to other countries (particularly to my country of origin), and Visual Capitalist recently compiled a list of how often people visit their GP every twelve months.

Japan came in at second place (beaten only by South Korea), with people here visiting the doctor 11 times on average annually. I thought that was pretty high, but the infographic on the Visual Capitalist site makes a good point – an ageing population means more doctor's visits.

My home country of Australia was fairly middle of the road on the list, with an average of six doctors visits a year.

I feel like I see the doctor maybe 3 times a year -- my annual ningen dock health check, plus anything else that comes up in between.

How do you feel you fare compared to the average number of doctor's visits each year? Does your home country feature on the infographic on Visual Capitalist's site linked above?

I don't hesitate to visit the station-front clinic when I have a respiratory infections. In the last year, I've been twice for respiratory viruses, each time confirming I'm not carrying RSV or Corona into my workplace. Thankfully, I only had the common cold viruses each time.

@TonetoEdo I think we're lucky here that healthcare is affordable, too. My husband is from the States, and often still has to break out of the mindset that yes, he can go and visit the doctor even if he has a cold!
