First and foremost, I think this is a super eye catching cake -- it's part of what made it stand out in the store, especially since most cakes tend to be chocolatey colored or a light beige for plain ol' vanilla cake bases. Vivid green definitely had a visual impact on the shelf! There's quite a bit going on with this cake, too, so if you appreciate different textures and such in your desserts of choice then you will probably enjoy this. There's a layer of sponge, the pistachio mousse, cream and pistachio paste. It is pricier than a lot of other dessert options at Lawson's right now, but I do think from a presentation standpoint it's more upmarket-feeling.

As I mentioned in the positive features section, this is a pricey cake, coming in at just over 400 yen including tax. That's expensive for a convenience store cake, but I try to remind myself that if I was purchasing it from an independent bakery it could easily be a couple of hundred yen more and I wouldn't really blink an eye at that. Overall, this was really tasty for anyone who likes pistachio flavored things. As far as I know this was a Christmassy-timed release, but you might still be able to find it at Lawson stores for a few more days. Hope you enjoy it if you do end up giving it a try!
