The description

This product is a salted chocolate pie, and it's a limited time offering available from Lawson convenience stores. It was priced at 149 yen including tax.

The good

The first thing I liked about this product was the price tag. At only 149 yen including tax it's a reasonably budget-friendly snack, and one of the more economical choices at Lawson right now. The inside of the pie has a chocolate cream filling, and there's a light saltiness (nothing overwhelming) to the outer crust/pie. I will say that the pie crust isn't particularly crispy, but that moistness might be a positive for some folks out there! Because it's a foldover style pie, it's easy to eat on the go as well, so it gets some points for convenience! ;)

The not so good

With a pie-like crust, I feel like there's typically an expectation that it'll lean towards being crispy, but this pie crust had more of a moist texture to it. I think that's probably to do with the fact that it's plastic-wrapped and has to be shelf stable, but for the sake of avoiding disappointment, go into it with the expectation that it won't be a crispy, crunchy outer. It's also VERY calorie dense at almost 400 calories for the entire thing. That's a meal sometimes for me! Overall though, this was still a tasty treat that represented pretty good value for money. I'm not sure how long it'll be on store shelves for, so take a look at your nearest Lawson if it sounds good to you. Happy eating, and enjoy!
