I love the Misdo pon de ring donuts because of their yummy chewiness, and this one packs in the matcha flavor for the tea lovers out there! Uji matcha is kneaded into the actual donut dough, and then the entire thing is coated with Uji matcha flavored chocolate -- so you get a bit of a double whammy of matcha flavors! The price is pretty reasonable IMO at 216 yen including tax -- it's cheaper than some of the other tea-themed donuts at Misdo right now -- and it's also probably the simplest one in the range. As they say, sometimes the simple things in life are often the best!

While I think some people will see the relative simplicity of this donut as a selling point, I'm sure that others would wish it was a bit more involved. If that's the case, I would recommend trying some of the other options in this range, such as the hojicha donut with brown sugar syrup, or the hojicha/red bean paste/chocolate option. They are a little more expensive than this one, but definitely fit the bill for a tea-themed donut with a bit more oomph to it. Needless to say though, this is still a solid option and a classic for a reason!
