Scones can be found incredibly easily in my home country at just about every bakery and cafe, but not so easily here -- so I'm always quite pleased when I see them available! This new Uji matcha scone from Tully's serves as a really nice accompaniment to their seasonal matcha latte, and it also contains white chocolate chips which add a nice sweetness and offset some of the trademark earthy matcha flavor. It's quite a decent portion size, too, which I was pleased about -- especially since the price is fairly up there for a single scone.

As I mentioned above, I do feel like this is a pretty pricey scone option at almost 400 yen including tax. It was really tasty, and I loved the addition of the white chocolate chips for sweetness, but like the latte it's not something I would purchase more than once after trying it based primarily on the cost. If you love all things matcha-flavored I would still say it's worth trying, so if it sounds appealing to you be sure to pop into your nearest Tully's store while it's still available.
