A reminder: check your local farmer's market for sansai!

I wrote a blog here on City-Cost recently about some tips for sansai (mountain vegetable) foraging here in Japan. We're fortunate that we live in the countryside and have avid sansai-loving neighbors who have taught us a lot about what to look for, but if you don't know where to start I recommend checking at your local farmer's market.

These were some of the options at our local JA recently, and if you're a sansai-newbie they also include some information about the types of mountain vegetables and recipe cards showing what they can be used for. It's really helpful if you're looking for some new/different greens to add to your cooking rotation!
