An indoor kind of day

I saw on the news this week that 12 people have died since February 4th, owing to the heavy snowfalls that much of the country has been experiencing. The bulk of those have been in Aomori and Hokkaido, and were as a result of snow clearing activities. It's an important reminder of how dangerous snow can be.

I saw that today, the Gala Yuzawa ski resort isn't operating because of strong winds in our local area. I'm pleased that they are taking those kinds of precautions, because it scares me to think of what could happen on an extremely windy day there.

Mother Nature can be scary at times, but I think it's important to be aware of that, and limit risks for your own safety.
