The description

This product is a tiramisu malasada, and it's a seasonal offering available from Starbucks stores across Japan. It was priced at 320 yen including tax.

The good

Malasadas have their origins in Portugal, but they're similar-ish to a donut -- and this one from Starbucks at the moment is really delicious. The outer malasada dough is coffee flavored, and inside there's a filling of mascarpone custard cream and cocoa cream. The whole thing is coated with powdered sugar for a treat that does a good job of emulating tiramisu flavors but with its own unique spin. Price wise I don't think this is awful -- it's fairly on par with what I would expect from a limited time offering at somewhere like Misdo, so overall not too bad!

The not so good

Because the outside of this malasada is coated in powdered sugar, it can be a bit messy to eat -- I would recommend using a knife and fork to cut it up and eat it rather than going all in with your hands to avoid that mess factor. Overall though, this is a really tasty treat that has a number of components that work in unison very well. I'm not sure how long it's set to be available for, so if it sounds appealing to you I would recommend heading in to your nearest Starbucks store soon. Hope you enjoy it if you do end up giving it a try!
