Apollo Yogurt

In terms of dagashi, (駄菓子) or cheap kids snacks in Japan, Meiji brand Apollo chocolate is my favorite. When I saw this strange yogurt, I had to try it.

I've seen it in a couple of supermarkets, first for over 100 yen, then for about 70 yen sort of to clear it out I'm guessing. It doesn't say limited edition, but it also doesn't seem like an all the time product.

In the image above, you can see the cup contains strawberry yogurt, then chocolate sauce on the bottom. This is sort of like a

'fruit on the bottom' yogurt, although I didn't mix it up.

I was glad the strawberry yogurt part wasn't very sweet. Just like the chocolate, it isn't very natural tasting but also doesn't taste like fake strawberry flavor. It was a little tangy and thick, with no bits of strawberry. The chocolate at the bottom balanced the sourness without being too sweet.

That being said, I'm not interested in getting this again. I prefer plain or regular strawberry yogurt. When I want some candy, I'll just get the usual Apollos.
