Marunaga Muscat Ice Bar

My favorite ice cream bar in Japan (sorry Takeshita Black Mont Blanc, it was close) is Marunaga's Kinako Mochi.

I had it the first time I ever visited Japan, while walking along a canal in Tokyo, enjoying hanami. I was really impressed and loved the kinako flavor right away. The mochi is also yummy and fits so well. 

Recently we've had the chance to try their zenzai bars - green tea with azuki beans and mochi. It's a really Japanese desert taste and also up there in my top favorite flavors.

I was a little surprised when I saw a new flavor - muscat.

It isn't especially Japanese first of all (it's a type of grape) and didn't sound particularly good either. Grape flavor and mochi? 

I haven't tried this yet, but I'm really tempted to because I like their other products. I wonder if it will be around for long. With almost 50% fruit juice used, I'm really curious. This is one I think I'll try with my husband because he will eat anything if I'm not into it.
