Forgetting the reality
I am sitting in a sushi bar reflecting. I just got news that a cousin that I was really close to as a kid is starting chemotherapy. We were like brothers growing up until a divorce and relocation separated us.
Life goes on and we get busy and we easily forget to take care of ourselves. And so the story goes, and before we know it we are in our mid-forties opening emails that stop us dead in our tracks.
Knowing I have this finite yet undetermined length of life, is all I really have at the end of the day. That’s all we get to work with. So why is it so easy to forget?
