Hougyokuen(遠州ふくろい、法多山街道沿い 茶好きの関所 宝玉園)
FROM THE SHOP
We work as a community to sell the best teas cultivated on our own land with our own hands without the use of pesticides. While the focus of our teas is on sencha, we also work with fermented teas (wakocha, white tea, black tea), as well as develop original products to be used in the tea-making process.
Here at Hougyokuen we also collaborate with local businesses, from a variety of fields, in the creation of unique products.
During the spring students from local elementary and high schools come to us to learn through tea as they experience picking tea by hand and take tours of our factory.
The center of our operations is a plantation founded in the middle of the Meiji era, and has been run by our family for six generations.
Please come to us and find the tea that suits you best. We’ll be there for your on your journeys to and from Mt. Hatta.
