Moriuchi Tea Farm (森内茶農園)

Located between Uchimaki and Miwa Village on the basin of the north-south flowing Abe River in Shizuoka City, Moriuchi Tea Farm has been around since the Edo period.

Here Yoshio and Masumi Moriuchi welcome visitors to their 150-year-old private home. With the couple's plentiful experience of giving talks, each year over 500 people from Japan and around the world come to visit.

Yoshio and Masumi manage their tea plantation, located on a steep area of land rich in minerals, where they hand-roll green tea and hand-pick sencha. In addition to a variety of sencha, a wide range of teas each with a distinct characteristic are carefully prepared, including half and fully fermented teas. 

Yoshio and Masumi have acquired qualifications that include those for teaching the hand rolling of tea and those as Japanese Tea Instructors. Through exhibitions and other activities they maintain an ambition directed toward the world of tea.
