One of four Asakusa Stations!
With four stations in the same area sharing the same name, its no wonder short term visitors to Japan and out of town tourists find Tokyo's railway quite difficult to navigate. The good news is they all serve the same area and are interconnected. Tonetoedo mentioned Tobu, so this review is for Tobu Asakusa Station, which is also a terminus. The Tobu Asakusa Station is south east of Sensoji temple and the closest station to the famous landmark, a must see in the Asakusa area. The station has some nice views as it is located along the Sumida river and is also conveniently located next to Sumida Park.

Great place to start a day
If you are looking for a short day trip, Asakusa Station is a good place to start a day. Its many lines connected make this a great place for friends to gather. It is just next to Sensoji so you are immediately treated to a landmark, and my days often continue by friends walking towards the Skytree together, which you can pretty much see on the way from Asakusa Station the entire time. It is also surrounded by a ton of restaurants and souvenir shops, so it is definitely convenient!

Views of Sumida and Skytree
Getting into Tokyo from Chiba or Saitama Prefectures could take you on any number of routes, but my preferred way is the Tobu Skytree Line which has its terminus at Asakusa Station. I like the slow section of rail on the Skytree Line which carries you along the Sumida River and affords views of Tokyo Skytree. The station connects to the Toei and Metro lines, too, which shoot you west into other parts of Tokyo. Inside the underground passage, the ceramic relief mural on the wall makes me linger. It depicts the vibrant festival atmosphere of the district. There are often other festival-related objects to spy on your way through this station.
