Chinese food with a distinct soy sauce flavor
Directly across from the Kikkoman Factory and Museum (free admission), is Shizu Chinese food. The restaurant serves typical Japanese-style Chinese classics, such as chahan, ramen, gyoza, and stir fried vegetables over rice. Many of the donburi combinations are loaded with vegetables, providing delicious and healthful meals. The prices are reasonable, too. What's special about Shizu is that it serves the Kikkoman factory workers when they eat out for lunch, and their dishes feature moromi miso, the chunky fermented soy bean product that is a stage in the process of creating miso and soy sauce. Other dishes are flavored with Noda City's famous product, soy sauce. It's a pretty good place for lunch after a visit to the factory museum.
