Lotus museum
Kodai Hasu means ancient lotus. Ancient Lotus were found on the grounds of the current Kodai Hasu no Sato park many years ago. After the ancient lotus, which were believed to be extinct, were found the area was turned into a park. The lotus bloom annually in summer. In the park there is an ancient lotus museum that doubles up as an observation tower. The history of the area and information about the lotus plant is displayed in the learning area. There is also a small interactive display. The hall is most used for events, often those of an international nature. Entry to the hall costs 400 yen for adults and 200 yen for children. Parking is normally free, but from June to August when the lotus are in bloom they charge for parking. It is 500 yen per vehicle per day.
