Museum of Modernity
The building is an awesome purnkle (pink purple) and pretty easy to recognize. It is very close to Kiryu train station and you can probably spot it as soon as you come out of the south exit. It is not wheel chair friendly with two steps into the place and the upper floor accessible only by stairs. It is a cute little museum though. Full of stuff from Kiryu specifically, like some old school ear gauges from the Jyumon period. There is also a 10-minute video you can watch. Upstairs has the change of different instruments throughout the ages, like the washing machine, going from a rock to a washboard to the wash basin. There isn't any English unfortunately, however, the staff are really friendly. It is only 150 yen to get in and worth the few minutes walking around. We also received a little paper replica of the building that you cut out and glue into shape.
