Nature park famed for its butterflies
Ranzan is famous for its butterflies. The town's mascot and the town's logos both use a butterfly image. The Chonosato park is a nature reserve for butterflies and other insects. The park isn't particularly large and it is split on either side of a national route, with a tunnel beneath the road to link both sides. There are toilets in at least two locations, one of which is a portable toilet. The park is quite quiet except in summer when people travel great distances to see butterflies in the wild. There is some pretty flora during the year too. The park and the car park are both free. The nearest station is Musashi Ranzan on the Tobu Tojo Line.
