Great kakigori in a range of flavors
If you're after some refreshing kakigori in the Itoigawa area, stop by Sato Confectionery. The cute, traditional-looking storefront houses a variety of sweet treats -- not just kakigori -- such as taiyaki, cream puffs, and more. The kakigori though is what caught our eye, and it comes in several flavors, including things like Uji matcha, berry, melon, chocolate, and more. The portions are big so you could easily split it with someone, and the prices are cheaper than Tokyo kakigori places -- most of them are around the 700-800 yen mark.
