    Satoyama landscape and wildlife spotting

For those curious about satoyama cultivation and the wildlife that thrives in satoyama landscapes, this 18.5 hectare site is worth a visit. The park is conserved by an NPO which hosts nature walks and workshops to teach visitors about the history of the natural resource. Konbukuro Pond is the head of a natural spring that feeds local rivers and marshes in Kashiwa City. The pond is frequented by birds and mammals, and provides habitat for lots of native plants. This is a great spot to see a semi-wild landscape, and contrasts with developed Kashiwanoha Park, about 10 minutes away on foot.
