Overlooking Maehara Beach on the Pacific shore at Kamogawa City is a plaza with a half-dozen shops. Around the wide lawn are a seafood-oriented shokudo, a market for local products, and a beach house that houses a local craft brewery, cafe, and bakery. I cozied up at a counter seat and had a modest snack of tortilla chips and guacamole with a glass of the craft brew. The counter seating has electrical outlets for your devices and WIFI is free and fast. Note that not all the staff are Japanese with a range of Japanese language fluency. They do their best, but you want to confirm the servers understand your order. The lawn has a fenced dog run, play space, and pavilions for shade.
