Fujisan views and plum blossoms
This tiny park on the east bank of the Edo River in Noda City doesn't appear remarkable. But if you happen to be in the city, it affords some amazing views. It's a high point on the riverbank, a "super embankment", meant to contain the Edo River in flood conditions. Because of its elevation, it has been designated as one of Noda City's recognized Mount Fuji view spots. In clear conditions (especially in autumn and winter) you get a glorious view of the Edo River and Fujisan in the distance. It's got a little grove of plum trees, too, which perfume the air in late January and early February. The park is a good rest spot on the Noda cycling road (running along the levees of the Edo and Tone Rivers and the Tone Unga Canal) and has a well-maintained public toilet and drinking fountain.
