Solid soba spot

Yamayoshi is a solidly good soba spot in Niigata, and the family-friendly restaurant offers big portions at reasonable prices. The soba and tempura set I had was 1210 yen and it was a ton of food, and they've also got kids menu options available if you're visiting with younger kids that need smaller portions. They have kids chairs and cutlery, but they also have a low table tatami area which IMO is easier with little ones. Keep in mind that they take a break between their lunch and dinner servings, and they're closed every Monday. There's a small parking lot on-site.
