Yes, it's pricey, but yes, it's tasty

This store location is just a couple of minutes on foot from Yurakucho Station, and yes - as others have lamented the prices are a little steep. Almost 700 yen for a simple hamburger, going up to almost 1300 yen for their Shack Stack burger is pretty expensive. In saying that, the food is good. If you want fries, you're gonna pay extra on top of that too...but there's just something about crinkle cut fries that draws me in. Not cheap, but incredibly tasty.

Still prefer the independent burger restaurants

As an American I'm very familiar with Shake Shack, and the hype around it when it came to Japan. In terms of price, Shake Shack here is fast food priced at a gourmet burger place prices. For the cost, I'd prefer to go somewhere like Arms Burger or Fellows, rather than a chain.

Fancy, if crowded, interior for fast food

Through a work connection I went to the "kick off" party for this particular branch of Shake Shack a few years ago - which amounted to a food truck with some patio furniture dotted about, funky music, and guests milling around. I've been to the store a couple of times since it opened proper and it's always been pretty crowded, which I find takes away a little bit from the ambience of what would otherwise be a nice interior - airy with wall-to-ceiling glass windows on the store front. I'd like a bit more privacy / space in the seating but we're only talking "fast food" so can't complain much about this. Shake Shake is one of, what, two(?) permanent eating options immediately in the vicinity of the Tokyo International Forum which is itself one of the most spectacular buildings in Tokyo, in my opinion, making a visit to this Shake Shake worth the crowds / one of the only for a sit-down feed anyway. Food-wise, Shake Shake is tasty, but you have to pay for it. Like pretty much any other Western-style fast food chain that can be found in Japan, it can't beat the golden arches for cost-performance, in my opinion.

    Nice Environment for Burgers

Shake Shack serves you premium burgers at a premium price, but you also get a very nice experience with great selections you would not get from fastfood restaurants. The shop itself is really nice too, and in general, I really like the design and atmosphere of the Internation Forum. It is never too crowded in this area. Instead of eating in, it is just as nice to get a burger to go and sit and enjoy it right outside on one of the benches.

A Nicer Place for a Burger

Shake Shack is a chain of burger restaurants, so their food is of a certain quality. I'm not actually a fan of their beef patties, but their chicken burger and their shakes are easily some of my favorite things at a chain. What prompted me to make a review of the place was actually the seating. There are a lot of seats, and the area inside felt very modern and open. The seats were mostly wooden but comfortable. The outside seating felt very relaxing during the day. This location is overall a very safe bet for a good fast food experience.
