Myoken Hongu Chiba Shrine
This shrine, located an easy walk from Chiba Station, is dedicated to Myoken, the deified North Star and related constellations. You’ll see many symbols representing stars and constellations at this shrine. The Chiba clan, after which the city and prefecture are named, regarded Myoken as their guardian deity. The shrine wards of the perils that come from the eight directions. It’s a popular spot for Shichigosan visits, and blessings for vehicles, businesses and personal safety. The tranquil pond in the garden in front of the shrine is crossed by vermillion bridges, and the carvings include the eastern zodiac animals.

Infamous Beauty
Chiba shrine is just one proof that beauty can never be equate to fame. Chiba Shrine is infamous in terms of tourist visits but even though it is not that famous unlike any other shrines around Japan, the has gorgeous structures and natural surroundings that makes the place something special. Chiba shrine admission fee is for free. Accessibility will never be an issue as it is just 10 to 15 minute walk from East Exit of JR Chiba Station.
