Itabashi Fudoson 板橋不動院

Richly decorated and historical Fudo temple

The temple complex has seven significant historical buildings, including the gate, the main hall, and a three story pagoda. In the temple itself are figures of Fudomyo and Ryodoji that are said to have been carved by the great Buddhist sage Kukai. The temple is popular with worshipers because the temple is said to confer protection of children. The vermilion gate, decorative carvings, and statuary make it a photogenic spot. The pagoda especially, surrounded by trees and flanking the main hall, is entrancing.
