Gorgeous bridge belonging to Futarasan Shrine
Shinkyo, one of Japan's three iconic bridges, is hard to miss on your visit to Nikko as it crosses the Daiya River on the route to the world heritage temples. You can cross it for an admission fee, but I think it's best viewed from either of the two roads, one parallel to the bridge. The bridge is part of Futarasan Shrine, so it makes a good first stop on a pilgrimage. The first shrine is near Toshogu, the middle one is on the shore of Lake Chuzenji, and the inner shrine is on the summit of Mount Nantai (the hike there takes a few hours and preparation).

One of Japan's iconic bridges
There are a few iconic bridges in Japan, and Nikko's Shinkyo Bridge is without a doubt one of them. It's visually striking, and the lush nature surrounding it adds another dimension to its beauty. I feel like if you're visiting Nikko, you have to go past here to get a snap.
