Plane spotting under cherry trees
Sakuranoyama Park is a tiny public park with a roadside station at the north end of Narita Airport's runway. The arriving and departing planes pass very low over this hillside area. The landscaped lookout has seasonal flowers, and the best time to visit is during cherry blossom season. Part of the fun is taking photos of aircraft framed by the pink blooms. The park is surprisingly close to Narita City's center, and easily accessed by bus.
