You must have a car to come here, but during the hot summer, it is a beautiful place to cool off. Along the river there are a few places you can pull off, and after a small amount of climbing, get to the river bank. The address given is the easiest and widest space we have found to spend a day. Many groups bring their own bbq pits and some tents, but you will need to be able to carry it down a steep slope no matter where you try to reach the river. The best places are often hidden, so just get out of the car anywhere that looks promising. Some of the swimming holes are rather deep and the water current can be fast, so those with small children please have caution. Further down the river, where everything begins to narrow and the beginning of the swimming area starts is a toilet.
