Delicious Gelato
If you don't have a car, you can get there by walking 800 meters from Akagi station. There is a nice sized parking lot with a few benches outside to enjoy your frozen treat. There are a few benches inside to sit as well, but even when we visited in winter it was pretty busy. There are a lovely selection of flavors and they let us have a taste test of their specialty flavor, Wani to saru gassen. It is based on the Japsnese folk tale and has persimmon and chestnut which was really good. They don't speak English and the flavor names are in Japsnese, so if you are allergic to anything you might want to make sure you can ask not to get said allergy in the ingredients. The prices are similar to going to baskin robins but the gelato is homemade and have flavors you won't find anywhere else.
