Alps Azumino National Government Park

Flower fan? Put this park on your itinerary

If you love flower displays like I do, the Alps Azumino National Government Park in Nagano should be on your list if you live nearby. I'd also say it's worth traveling for! There are a wide variety of blooms on display here at different times of year, including sakura and tulips during spring, and cosmos in autumn. The surrounding scenery is simply gorgeous as well -- the park is flanked by mountains, and it really makes for some stunning views. There is an admission fee of 450 yen for adults, but kids under 14 are admitted for free. I think the fee is worth every yen, though!
