Mediocre park with stunning cherry blossoms

The Suijo Park in Gyoda is known for its cherry blossoms. The cherry blossoms are very nice, but in general it is quite a lackluster park. And its not really ideal for visiting with children. There is an old steam locomotive engine and a playground in a neighboring public facility, but neither are particularly engaging for children older than preschool age. The lake and seasonal flowers are the main draws of the park. The lake is nice enough, but nothing special. There are resident ducks though. As well as Vert cafe which is a cafe in a cultural heritage building. The park is open 24 hours. The car park has a rope to close it off, but I've never seen it closed off. I presume it is closed at night. There are facilities in the car park such as toilets and vending machines.
