Mom and pop ramen shop worth going out of the way for
http://www.raccasei.com/ Ramen in japan is great and a small mom and pop shop is even better. Located across from sezouji shrine, it is a nice lunch spot. The shrine is easy to find from with the Sanoshi station or Tobusano station. There were locals in the place while we visited. They have a son near the same age as mine and let him play with his toys. There is a train set above the seating area that the cook turned on for us. The gyoza was awesome if the ramen was just ramen(which what ramen isnt good?) The locals ordered something not on the menu and it looked and smelled phenomenal. It was cha-han ankake, full of vegetables. They didn't speak any english, but were very friendly. The prices range from 600 to 900 yen for a bowl. I highly recommend this place for those headed to ashikaga for the flower park or fireworks festival. It would make a great stop for lunch or on the way back toward Tokyo for dinner.
