    Surprisingly busy

I was quite surprised on each of my visits to Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal by how busy it was. I suppose I shouldn't have been seen as it is a central hub for bus transport. With so many train options you forget that people still use buses! And they are much more economical than many of the alternatives. The terminal is easy to navigate, clean and relatively comfortable for this type of place. It has essential services too (toilets, vending machines etc). The staff work efficiently for the most part.

Easy to get from A to B

I transited through here several years ago to catch an overnight bus, and I found the whole process simple and easy to understand. To me it's almost airport-like in terms of structure, with numbered bays and so forth. It's a good option to look into if you're trying to travel for cheaper than the shinkansen.

    Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal

I got my bus ticket on the same day I went to Kawaguchiko, Yamanashi. It is located was impressed as to how fast the whole process was and language was not a problem since the staff could speak English. The place was also well-organized and clean. There's also a convenience store on the same floor; however, it's small and you could be waiting in a long line at the counter when it's peak season.
