Lunch menu offers the best value

If you're looking for a meat fix, Zenzan in Niigata City is worth visiting. Like a lot of restaurants in Japan you get the best value at lunchtime, which is when I'd suggest stopping by. They have a variety of different dishes on offer including Korean-style kalbi bowls and skirt steak bowls, and you can get them served in a set with rice and kimchi or salad. They are on the Sea of Japan side of the Bandai Bridge, about 10 minutes by cab from Niigata Station.
